Kitchen Design Process

One person’s dream kitchen is often not the same as another...

Our aim at Silver Birch Kitchen Design is to give you a tailor-made experience throughout your whole customer journey, from looking at initial concepts and ideas to making your dream kitchen a reality. We work closely with all of our customers to make the design process as easy and enjoyable as possible.

Requirements

I will come to you at a time that suits you – this can be during office hours, as well as evenings and weekends. I will bring a set of illustrations and samples with me for you to touch and examine up close. These include door colours, handles and styles, worktop materials, colour swatches and more. We can then talk through your ideas and vision for your made-to-measure kitchen and I will advise on how we can make them happen.

Design

Once we have narrowed down the options, I will take some measurements and draw up a 3D realistic visual of how your chosen kitchen could look in situ. This will help you see how your dream kitchen can take shape and work in the available space. Once you are happy with that, I will provide you with a quotation based on that layout.

If you prefer, my home studio has a small selection of units and kitchen layouts on display that you are welcome to come and see for yourself. We can discuss your ideas and I can put them onto a big screen to see what you think.

Personal touch

I pride myself on providing a truly professional, personal touch and excellent customer service. You will only deal with me throughout the entire process, so that I can remain fully involved and up-to-date with the project.

I will liaise personally with the chosen kitchen fitters and tradespeople to ensure that all works are carried out correctly and with care. I will also handle any potential obstacles, should they occur, in order to keep the project on track.

Delivery and aftercare

As a rule, I operate on a turnaround of four to six weeks on kitchens from initial design to final quality checks. This will depend, however, on which range, colours and options are chosen.

For me, aftercare is just as important as working on the design itself. You can be confident that your great Silver Birch Kitchen Design experience will carry on beyond the end of the project. I will continue to be available for queries, last-minute changes and advice as needed.

About Me

Hi I’m Richard Birch and welcome to
Silver Birch Kitchen Design

I’m a highly-experienced kitchen designer in Surrey. Working with clients across the south-east of England and beyond, I offer a professional, design-led approach, backed up by 18 years in the kitchen design and building industry.

After finishing my university studies, I developed my skills and eye for bespoke kitchen design at a number of well-known companies. These included Wickes (Retail) and Benchmarx Kitchens & Joinery, along with several independent kitchen showrooms.

I have built up solid experience across multiple areas of kitchen creation and design, from business development, contracts and branch management to design, supplier liaison and aftercare. In 2020, I founded Silver Birch Kitchen Design as a top-quality, made-to-measure kitchen design company in Ewell.

Passion and experience

My extensive experience in the industry, along with my passion for my work, means that I know how to design kitchens that fit perfectly with my clients’ vision. I work collaboratively and will listen to you and your ideas to help you achieve your dream kitchen. If you need inspiration, I can guide you through the process, make your customer journey as smooth as possible and show you options and ideas you may not have thought about before.
